Rupert

The brass base is painted sandstone and sealed with a matte finish.

The amber glass is detailed with alternating sizes of flowers, it holds the light beautifully when lit.

The cage was taken from a chandelier piece that hung in a hotel from Kingston, Ontario Canada. I purchased it for parts before the building was demolished, I texturized it to resemble cast iron.

The emerald flute glass is probably my favorite part, I spotted it at a brocante in Albany, NY and immediately returned home to make Rupert.

His shade is not lined but instead covered with two seperate fabrics. the first is cotton printed bird scenes on a sandstone back drop and the other is a distressed marble effect that compliments the exsisting colours. I finished the seams off with cotton ribbon and overlayed charcoal rope to add more depth. The bias trim is canvas dyed sandstone.
